Ravikiran was invited by Cleveland Tyagaraja Festival to compose the first and final segments of their grand 6-day Operatic dance production, Mahabharata. His Mahabharata - Karna Shapatam (also referred to as Draupadi Kalyanam) performed to sell-out crowds in San Diego in April 2014 and a week later in Cleveland. Choreographed by the legendary Prof C V Chandrashekhar, this consisted of 34 pieces, mostly in Tamil barring one or two in Sanskrit. It also included a unique Kavuttuvam addressed to Surya (Sun), a Shabdam and the 10-raga Dasha Ranjani Tillana. Musicians included Anahita & Apoorva Ravindran, Ashwath Narayanan, Ranjani Ramakrishnan, Bhargavi Balasubramanian and others.
