Sadaramutonu

Shankarābharaṇam

Ādi

This is a first of Ravikiran's Schematic Swarakshara creations - a concept introduced by the composer in Aug 1997.  Schematic Swaraksharas not only employ interesting Swaraksharas (lyric syllables matching with names of the notes of the music) but do so with an in-built scheme which adds layers of lyrical and melodic sophistication and explores new aesthetics.  The openings of each line in this piece are: Sa-Da, Ri-Da, Ga,-Da, Ma-Da, Pa-Da, Da-Da, Ni-Da and (higher octave) Sa-Da, moving up from the middle Sa to the High Sa but each note connecting to a common 6th note, Da.
