In order to showcase the chitravina’s capabilities as a melody-accompaniment in lieu of the violin, Ravikiran also donned the role of an accompanist to select legends such as Dr Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, his guru T Brinda, Shri R K Srikanthan, Shri K V Narayanaswamy, Dr Nedanoori Krishnamoorthy and Smt T Mukta. In recent times, some of his students have also been providing Chitravina or Veena accompaniment in concerts.
